Winter dock height has been determined. Please measure the distance of your dock height to the level of the water and compare to SSYC’s dock 180. (Your dock can be higher but not lower.) Please note that the water level fluctuates constantly so the measurement and adjustment must take place within a short period of time. It is the dock owners responsibility to adjust their slip or make arrangements to have the dock adjusted in preparation for winter. Please note that this needs to be done prior to the club closing the last weekend of October.

Volunteers are needed for the SSYC club closing work party on Saturday Oct. 12, 2024. The activity will start at 10:00 am and the club will provide coffee and doughnuts. We need help to power wash the west building, store picnic tables, clean and store the grills, and raise docks. Please attend if possible.

Please note the club closing dates as follows:

Oct. 15, 2024 – The water will be turned off at the club so the bathrooms, laundry, and dock faucets will no longer function.

Nov. 1, 2024 – All boats must be out of the club.

Nov. 1, 2024 – The club perimeter gates will be closed. Only the main entrance and exit gates will function.

Nov. 15, 2024 – The electric will be turned off at the club and the entrance and exit gates will be locked.

                                                                It’s PARTY TIME

SSYC is sponsoring a party on Saturday the 10^th of August for all Renters & owners & their Guests beginning at 5PM.  Pizza & Beverages will be provided.  The PARTY will be located on the west side community room area.  A Big Cooler with ice will also be in the breeze way.  Tent & tables will be set up.  At 7PM we will have a Euchre tournament. 

There will be sign up sheets posted around the club so please RSVP.

The 2024 America’s Boating Club of Saginaw Bay (formerly called Saginaw Bay Sail and Power Squadron) will be at SSYC for boat safety inspections Saturday, June 15, at 10 AM.  Sign up sheets for a boat inspection will be posted at the bath houses. This is a good way to learn a little more about your boat and boating safely on the Saginaw Bay. It helps avoid (but not necessarily stops) those untimely  inspections by the Coast Guard too.  Hope you take advantage of this great opportunity.

Please keep your vehicle tires on the pavement as the sprinkler heads are located just off the blacktop parking areas. Parking on the grass is damaging the sprinkler heads.

The fish cleaning stations are in jeopardy of being removed as some individuals are not cleaning up after themselves and removing the remains out of the freezers when they leave. If you use the cleaning stations please clean up the station and remove the remains from the freezer and take them with you for disposal. Do not place the remains in the SSYC dumpsters. The freezers were installed as a convenience for those using the cleaning stations. The expectation is that your cleaning remains be removed from the freezer when you leave from your stay (day, weekend, or week.)
