Boat Ramp Renovations – Shady Shore Dr.

We received the following on 08/08/2022 from the Bay City DNR office in reference to the renovations planned for the DNR public launch located at the end of Shady Shore Drive; “Patterson Road” launch:

The project is still planned for this fall with a start date of September 12th.  There have been some changes in the scope and timing of the project.  The plan now is to also do the ramp expansion this fall along with repaving the entire site not just the expansion areas.  While paving the site is great for us it is going to result in the closure of the site while the work is being done.  They are estimating a closure of approximately 8 weeks with a tentative opening date of November 5th.   I know closing the site for this length of time will be an inconvenience to a lot of users, but I believe we are going to get a much better product.
